Southern Virginia opened their season a week after the majority of teams but they did so in impressive fashion with Christian Sheaffer leading the way en route to earning CVC Player of the Week honors for January 27, 2025.

Sheaffer totaled 40 kills, 7 digs, 7 blocks, and 10 aces in three match sweeps on the week including a win over #12 Loras. He hit .471 on the week and had a .979 serve receive percentage while putting up a total of 54 points. 

Sheaffer tallied double-digit kills in all three matches with a high of 14 against Wittenberg. He had four aces against both Edgewood and Loras. Sheaffer committed just 7 errors on his 70 swings for the week.
