David Ward picked up this week's CVC Player of the Week award, becoming just the second Royal to win the award since the 2019 season. Ward, a junior opposite, helped Eastern Mennonite University to a pair of wins in three matches last week.
Ward averaged 4.60 kills while hitting .440 on the week and added 1.80 digs and 5.1 points per set. He reached double figures in kills in all three matches including 21 against Wittenberg. He hit .667 in a sweep of Mount St. Joseph, putting down 14 kills on just 21 attacks.
Ward finished the week with 46 total kills and just six errors in his 91 swings. He also totaled eight service aces, 18 digs, and four blocks.
