Rutgers University-Newark led the way for CVC programs with three honorees: Derek Au, Daniel Quay, and Andrew Zaleck. Au moved into the Scarlet Raiders' starting lineup as a sophomore and Rutgers-Newark didn't miss a beat. Au moved the ball with ease all season long and made his presence felt, ranking first in Division III for assists per set (10.99) and 9th nationally in total assists (890). Au was also a defensive threat at the net, finishing second on the team with 44 total blocks. Au earned CVC Setter of the Year, the first Rutgers-Newark player to win that award, as well as First Team All-CVC.
Quay completed his senior season with his first All-American nod. He hit .430, which is good for 12th nationally, and averaged 0.98 blocks per set (15th nationally). Quay finished 3rd on the team with 168 kills, however, he topped the team with 77 total blocks. He often saw his name listed on the NJAC weekly awards list as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week. Along with those awards he was named First Team All-CVC.

Zaleck cleaned up the awards this season, including CVC Player of the Year, AVCA East Region Player of the Year, and CVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player among others. Zaleck concluded his junior season 11th in the nation with 4.13 kills per set and 6th in the nation with 5.00 points per set. He was named Second Team All-Conference earlier this week. Perkins held a hitting percentage of .426 with 140 kills during the regular season. He also ranked second on the team with 48 blocks. He led the CVC in hitting percentage (.451), with the mark seeing him also ranked fifth in the entire country in the statistic. His 79 total blocks tied to lead the team and for second in the CVC, while his 247 kills were a career-high season total and good for second on the team and seventh in the CVC.
